For newcomers and for those who have done TRE before
Unreleased stress, chronically held tension or trauma get stored in the body and it’s nervous system, manifesting themselves through symptoms like chronic muscular tension, anxiety, panic attacks, irritability, anger, rage, chronic pain, stomach problems, tension headaches, lower back pain and sleep difficulties to name a few.
Tension and Trauma Release Exercises (TRE®) created by Dr. David Berceli, activate the body’s natural and organic process that can effectively reduce physical stress and highly activated nervous system. The method consists of learning a simple set of exercises that evoke inherent bodily tremors, shaking, or stretching that generates in the pelvic area of the psoas muscles and reverberates outward along the spine, releasing stress and muscular tension from the sacrum to the cranium, restoring the body and mind back to a calmer, more balanced and relaxed state.
It's approach offers both, short-term and long-term recovery benefits, as the release of specific tension patterns in the body provides immediate relief, while the on-going use of the technique could enhance one’s resilience to cope with unavoidable future stresses and traumas. TRE® exercises are simple and adaptable to suit individual fitness and physical capabilities and are being successfully used by individuals and professionals from all walks of life. TRE® is also quickly becoming a popular way to release every-day stress, to improve flexibility and mobility for all sport related activities; yoga, pilates, running, cycling and swimming, and to use it as a meditation practice that cultivates inner sense of peace, self-regulation and wellbeing.
No experience required. This workshopis not suitable to attend during pregnancy, or for those who suffer from epilepsy/seizures, or have severe mental disorder.
TRE workshop will be held in Constantia on 17 Oct 2020.
Therapeutic rhythm techniques have been used for thousands of years by shamans of Mongolia to the Minianka healers of West Africa, to create and maintain physical, mental, and spiritual health and the current medical research is now strongly verifying what these cultures have known for years - that ancient rhythm techniques tap into the layers of the body and mind that other modalities cannot.
It is for this reason that a small group of women, drawn to experimenting with ancient resources that connect with the universal energies, inner vitality, exhilaration, hope, giving, sharing and unity, will come together to learn and play simple West African rhythms on Djembe drums. We will gather as a women tribe eager to explore connectedness without words, and also, to utilise the healing powers of drumming rhythms that can help us release stress, tensions and traumas, unblock stuck energy, create clarity and flow and to cultivate feelings of joy, excitement and wellbeing.
No experience required. Drums will be provided. For those who think they have no musical ability or sense of rhythm, if you have a heart beat you have a rhythm. Everyone will be able to play within minutes and with ease.
The Healing Circle will be facilitated by Metka Zurman a Life Coach, Tension & Trauma Release Exercise® provider, TRE® mentor, and Djembe player.
Most of us women in the modern world, live our lives so disconnected from the Earth, and devoid of any kind of ritual that creates a safe space for us to connect with intention and meaning. Release Heal Renew drumming circles have been designed with that in mind, to create a sacred space where we can come together as a women tribe drawn to manifesting with the moon and with a desire to create a circle of deep connection and meaning through universal energies, drumming rhythms and sisterhood.
During this Release Heal Renew drumming circle we will harness the energy of the new moon, take a moment to reflect on the past few weeks, write down and release in a fire vessel what is getting in the way of the experiences that haven’t arrived yet, and then, through drumming simple West African rhythms, will release any stagnant energies out of our bodies and bring more lightness and joy inside.
During the new moon the sun and the moon come into alignment when the masculine (yang) energy of the sun merges with the feminine (yin) essence of the moon. When this happens it’s a perfect time, energetically, to breathe new life into any area of stagnation or any place in our lives where we would like to impact positive change. It’s like a blank page, a fresh start, a moment to turn inward and to call new things into our lives and acknowledge what we are ready to release. Harnessing the moon’s lunar energy also brings the body's systems into harmony and promotes healing and wellness.
Release Heal Renew drumming circle will be held in Constantia and will be facilitated by Metka Zurman, a life coach, Trauma Release Provider® and Djembe player who has incorporated the healing power of drumming rhythms into her coaching practice.
No experience required. Djembe drums will be provided.
